HFT33020Z-01 Thermostatic Mixing Valve

The Legom HFT33020Z-01 Thermostatic Mixing Valve is a compact G1/2 thermostatic mixing valve with an external water inlet connector — providing positional flexibility at the hot and cold water supply connections while the mixed water outlet remains a standard fixed port. This configuration suits installations where the supply pipework requires external connector reach or positioning flexibility at the inlet side, while the mixed outlet connects directly to fixed downstream pipework in the standard orientation.

Manufactured from 57-3 copper with surface plating, the HFT33020Z-01 delivers standard HFT thermostatic mixing performance — temperature adjustment range 20–60°C, control accuracy ±2°C, working pressure range 0.03–1 MPa — in a compact G1/2 body suited to domestic water heater and point-of-use applications. Compatible with hot water inlet 30–99°C and cold water inlet 5–29°C. Factory-preset temperature ranges available for OEM orders.

Key Benefits
  • External inlet connector — supply side flexibility with fixed outlet – The external connector on the hot and cold inlets provides positional flexibility where the supply pipework does not reach the valve body’s standard inlet port positions, while the fixed mixed outlet maintains a standard connection to downstream distribution pipework. This is the appropriate configuration when only the supply side requires connection flexibility
  • G1/2 for compact and point-of-use applications – The smallest standard domestic TMV connection size, suited to single-fixture, compact water heater, and OEM integration applications at G1/2
  • ±2°C temperature control accuracy – Consistent mixed water delivery within ±2°C of the set point across varying supply pressure and temperature conditions
  • 20–60°C adjustment range – ABS black handwheel for full-range commissioning adjustment with factory-preset narrower ranges available
  • No electricity required – Self-acting thermostatic operation requiring no electrical connection
  • 57-3 copper with surface plating – Durable copper alloy body for potable hot water service
  • Wide pressure range 0.03–1 MPa – Including low-pressure gravity-fed systems from 0.03 MPa
  • Customizable preset temperature ranges – OEM orders can specify factory-preset ranges for restricted-adjustment applications

External Connector Scope — HFT G1/2 Comparison

Model External Connector Fixed Port Best For
HFT33020Z-01 Inlet only Mixed outlet Supply-side flexibility, fixed distribution
HFT40005H-01 Inlet and outlet None Full connection flexibility
HFT30001 G1/2 None All ports Standard aligned pipework

Application & Use Cases
  • Domestic water heater installations with offset supply pipework – Where the hot and cold supply pipes do not reach the valve body’s standard inlet port positions directly, the external inlet connector provides the reach and positioning flexibility needed without modifying the supply pipework, while the mixed outlet connects to fixed downstream distribution as normal
  • OEM water heater product integration at G1/2 – Compact water heater assemblies where the hot and cold connections to the TMV are made via external connectors from the heater’s internal pipework layout, while the mixed outlet exits to a fixed distribution connection point
  • Compact domestic water heaters and point-of-use installations – Small electric storage units, instantaneous heaters, and individual fixture applications where external inlet connectors bridge the gap between heater outlet positions and the valve body
  • Retrofit installations where supply pipes are offset – Replacing an existing G1/2 TMV where the supply pipe positions do not align with the replacement valve’s standard inlet ports, while the mixed outlet position is fixed and accessible

Installation Notes
  • Connect hot and cold water supplies to the external inlet connectors (H and C) using appropriate thread sealant — the connectors extend the inlet connection points to reach offset supply pipes
  • Connect distribution pipework to the standard fixed mixed outlet port (M) using male G1/2 fittings with thread sealant
  • Install isolation valves upstream of both hot and cold inlets
  • Install a strainer on the cold inlet to protect the thermostatic cartridge
  • The valve performs optimally at 0.1–0.5 MPa
  • Verify outlet temperature at the fixture with a calibrated thermometer after installation
  • Flush supply lines before installation to remove debris

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between an external inlet connector and an external inlet and outlet connector?

An external inlet connector provides positional flexibility only at the supply connections — the hot and cold water inlets. The mixed water outlet remains a standard fixed port on the valve body that the downstream distribution pipe connects to directly. An external inlet and outlet connector (as on the HFT40005H-01) provides positional flexibility at all three connection points including the mixed outlet. Choose the HFT33020Z-01 when only the supply side requires connector reach or flexibility and the outlet distribution pipework is already in a fixed position that aligns with the valve body’s standard outlet port.

Can the temperature range be factory-preset?

Yes. OEM and project orders can specify factory-preset temperature ranges of 35–55°C, 40–50°C, or 30–60°C that mechanically restrict handwheel travel. Contact the Legom team to specify the required preset range when ordering.

What maintenance does the HFT33020Z-01 require?

The thermostatic cartridge should be inspected annually. Clean the cold inlet strainer periodically depending on local water quality. In hard water areas, cartridge descaling may be required annually. Contact the Legom team for cartridge replacement specifications for the G1/2 model.
